Earlier in August the elephants were busy flash mobbing the city centre with the herd growing in size each week to raise awareness of the project without giving too much away. The flash mobs lead up to the 'grand finale' on August Bank Holiday Monday where the Lower Precinct made way for the whole herd to unveil the launch of the world's biggest story book!
Students from schools across the city have been very busy setting the world record challenge and letting their imaginations run wild by creating fantastic stories and illustrations to include in the book.
The Jumbo book weighs in at a massive 40 kilos and is approx 102cm tall X 65cm wide containing over 500 original short stories and illustrations from local pupils.
The book's mascot is a friendly elephant called Hugo. Organisers chose an elephant to represent the book as it signifies the size of the project as well as being synonymous with the city of Coventry.
